The University Library has a variety of technology items available for use by Nevada State students and employees.
A Scorpion Card is required to check out technology. Some items, such as laptops, are limited to one item per person. Please see the information below for more information on borrowing items from the Library Service Desk on the 2nd floor of the Rogers Student Center (RSC) building.
Borrowing Technology: Terms of Use
By checking out technology from the University Library, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms. Failure to comply may result in suspension of borrowing privileges, fines, account holds, and/or disciplinary action.
Responsibility and Liability
- You are fully and solely responsible for all technology equipment and accessories checked out under your name. This responsibility begins at checkout and continues until all items are returned and verified by a library staff member.
- Any loss, theft, or damage beyond reasonable wear and tear will result in charges for repair or full replacement. Evidence of misuse, neglect, or rough handling will result in permanent loss of borrowing privileges.
- The Library is not liable for personal files, saved login information, or unauthorized activity. You must log out of all personal accounts and erase personal data prior to returning any device.
Due Dates and Late Returns
- Technology must be returned in person to a staff member at the Service Desk by the specified due date and time.
- Returning technology items late will result in a one-week temporary suspension of borrowing privileges. Repeated violations will lead to permanent loss of access to technology lending services and may trigger further institutional consequences.
- Items that are severely overdue will incur the full replacement cost and will result in an administrative hold on your student account.
Access Restrictions
- Technology equipment is reserved exclusively for current Nevada State University students with a valid Scorpion Card or government-issued ID. Faculty, staff, alumni, and community members are not permitted to check out technology items.
