Placing Holds and Item Requests
Eligible physical leisure collection items can be requested for pickup by placing a hold through your library account, at the Library Service Desk, or by calling (702) 992-2800. If you need help placing a request, check out our Finding Books guide.
When placing a request, you can choose your preferred pickup location at Nevada State University, UNLV, or CSN. Once your requested item is available, you will be notified and it will be held for 7 days at your selected pickup location before the hold expires.
Overdue and Billed Items
You are expected to return all library materials by the due date listed on your library account. Please note that you are still responsible for your items, even if you do not receive an overdue notice.
Items that are 7 days overdue are considered lost and cannot be returned to the library. At that point, the replacement cost will be charged to your MyNevadaState account, and you will remain responsible for the cost even if the item is returned later.
To help prevent items from becoming lost, the library will send two overdue notices. Patrons can also view due dates at any time by logging into their library account.
If you are unable to return an item by its due date, please contact the Service Desk at (702) 992-2800 or email library@nevadastate.edu before the item becomes overdue to discuss available options, including renewal when applicable. Contacting the library early can help prevent the item from being declared lost and avoid replacement charges.
