Eligible physical leisure collection items can be requested for pickup by placing a hold through your library account, at the Library Service Desk, or by calling (702) 992-2800. If you need help placing a request, check out our Finding Books guide.
When placing a request, you can choose your preferred pickup location at Nevada State University, UNLV, or CSN. Once your requested item is available, you will be notified and it will be held for 7 days at your selected pickup location before the hold expires.
You are expected to return all library materials by the due date listed on your library account. Please note that you are still responsible for your items, even if you do not receive a courtesy reminder.
Items that are 7 days overdue are considered lost and cannot be returned to the library. At that point, the replacement cost will be charged to your MyNevadaState account, and you will remain responsible for the cost even if the item is returned later.
To help prevent items from becoming lost, the library will send two courtesy reminders. Patrons can also view due dates at any time by logging into their library account.
If you are unable to return an item by its due date, please contact the Service Desk at (702) 992-2800 or email library@nevadastate.edu before the item becomes overdue to discuss available options, including renewal when applicable. Contacting the library early can help prevent the item from being declared lost and avoid replacement charges.
The Library provides 24/7 access to a wide range of academic and popular ebooks. All ebooks can be accessed online through the Library Search. Popular titles are also browsable through our highlighted collections, where you'll find Staff Picks and other recommendations, or by going directly to the OverDrive database.

The Library provides access to the streaming platforms below. These platforms host hundreds of educational films, documentaries, and videos that can be integrated into your courses.
If you would like the Library to acquire a specific film for your class, fill out our Resource Request Form.
A library team member will follow up with you to assist with your request. If the film is available, we will add it to the library collection and send you the streaming link to share with your students.
If you have questions, please reach out to us at libraryacquisitions@nevadastate.edu. We're happy to help!
Streaming availability depends on licensing terms and cost. We will communicate with you if there are any issues and help explore alternative options. Many streaming licenses are time-limited and may expire or be removed from platforms.
To ensure uninterrupted access, we recommend submitting new or repeat requests before the start of each semester, especially for titles used in previous courses.
